April 2017 Newsletter

Things are heating up at the library.  We are preparing for the Summer Reading Program.  The program is open to all children and adults in Thayer.   We will begin May 18th and continue until August 18th.  This year the theme is “Build a Better World.”  We will have several celebrations during the summer where we can explore how to build a better life, community, and world.  We are starting the fun activities with a movie night Friday, May 19th at 8 pm.  We will have popcorn, hot dogs, and drinks.  The movie will be shown outside the library so bring your lawn chair, blanket, or wagon and join in the fun and food.

We have several new books in by some of our favorite authors.  Man Overboard is J.A. Jance’s newest book.  Fannie Flagg has The Whole Town’s Talking.  C.J. Box’s newest book is Vicious Circle. Debbie Macomber has a new one out called If Not for You.  A couple of new mysteries include Mary Higgins Clark with All by Myself, Alone and James Patterson with The Black Book.  A new voice is Romalyn Tilghman with her novel, To the Stars Through Difficulties.

We also have new DVD’s: Assassin’s Creed, Star Wars: the Force Awakens, Patriots Day, Passengers, and Moana.  We were lucky enough to receive a large donation of action adventure DVD’s this month.  These are not new movies, but they are new to us.  Come check them out.

We are happy to help the Thayer community however we can.  We have computers, free wi-fi, laminator, printer/copier, fax machine, books, audio books, DVD’s, magazines, meeting room, children’s computer, and much, much more!
